In honor of that day, Port of Albany staff members previously submitted images from in and around the port to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the rigorous industry, serene beauty, and a bit of lighthearted fun showcasing the work life at an inland port.

Fifty photos were posted to the Port's social media channels with winners based on highest reach. Thank you to all who liked/shared/reposted!

#1: The Sunset Over the Ship & Crane (photo by J. Kosa)
The red-lit sky transforms the port into a stage of both beauty and industry. The ship and crane are silhouetted against the horizon, a reminder that the Port of Albany operates as a working link in the global supply chain, moving materials that keep commerce and daily life functioning.

#2: The Flag and Cranes (photo by J. Kosa)
The flag framed by the cranes speaks to the port’s role in national infrastructure. It is a reminder that places like Albany are vital connectors, moving turbines, steel, and machinery that keep the country running even if much of that work remains unseen.

#3: Worker with Crane Cables (photo by C. Stock)
This image captures scale and precision. The lone worker beneath the heavy cables highlights the human role in orchestrating machinery and cargo, underscoring how supply chains depend on people as much as equipment.

#4: Storm Clouds Over Albany Skyline (photo by E. Criscione)
The dark sky building over the Empire State Plaza creates atmosphere and tension. The skyline and railyard foreground tie the city and the port together, showing how weather, infrastructure, and logistics are interdependent in keeping goods moving.

#5: Safety Meeting (photo by M. Daly)
This may be the least visually striking, but it grounds the story of the port in its people. The meeting room scene shows the everyday coordination, planning, and teamwork required to operate a supply hub safely and efficiently.
